Next week, we will load a 40-foot container of recovered medical supplies from MedWish to be sent to a hospital in rural Jirapa, Ghana. The shipment will be filled with beds, gloves, a suction machine, an OR table, gurneys, and pallets of consumable supplies such as IV start kits, gauze, and central line dressing kits! Lots of different people from all over the world have helped us with this shipment. Just this week, MedPLUS Connect partners in Ghana facilitated a funds transfer from the Ghana Ministry of Health to MedPLUS Connect to pay for the shipment. Our Board President, Lauren, in Atlanta saw the transfer and with the help of Board Member Harriet in Cleveland, alerted our Executive Director Emma, who is currently in Zambia! While in Zambia, Emma worked with partners in Utah, Ohio, North Carolina, and California to coordinate the shipment of supplemental value added supplies for our shipment. The power of technology and communication is truly incredible, and we are grateful to all of our partners across the United States, and the globe!
